Being Honest with Your Bankruptcy

When you fill out the bankruptcy paperwork in preparation for your filing you'll run into a temptation to cheat here and there. Perhaps you have a debt you'd rather not list or a loan with a family member that you find a little embarrassing.

Know this - if you cheat on your paperwork bad things will happen. One or more debts may not be properly discharged which means you might get stuck paying them off.

Worst you might have your entire bankruptcy disallowed. If the court feels you've been purposely evasive you may even face huge fine and/or criminal charges.

Also, your lawyer will need to get a complete and accurate picture of your current financial situation. If you keep something from him, he may give you advice that will cause you problems later.
