Bill Collector Letter - Stop All Contact

Under the law you can demand that a bill collector stop contacting you and they're required to cease contact. Unfortunately if the debt is genuine, a lawyer call may soon follow.

Use this letter only when you're being harassed, are receiving phone calls at odd hours, friends and family members are being called or when being contacted at your place of work. (in some states collection calls are forbidden to the work place while in other states they're allowed)

Don't put up with their abuse.

If the debt is not valid, you have all the more reason to stop the calls.

Then, they will be forced to re-evaluate the debt. If the debt seems valid to them it will be worth the while to have a lawyer call. But if the debt is in question, the whole issue may die right then.

Re: Account No. 334-5444

Dear Mr. Price,

Over the past two months I've received numerous phone calls regarding my account with Zinko's Department Store.

This letter constitutes a formal notification under 15 U.S.C 1692c(c) to cease all further contact with me except for the reasons allowed by the federal law.

This letter is in no way meant to acknowledge that I owe the funds in question.

Sincerely,

Robert T. Wiegand
